My New Lakeside Pastel Painting Titled, "The Promise"
I painted this scene in soft pastel because it reminds me that our son loved boat toys before he started school. He especially loved the small remote boats that can be navigated at a local lake or pond.
Whenever we went to vacation spots that offered these remote toys for recreation, we had to stop and let him play with them. With his love of toy boats we assumed that he would want to sail someday, but he never expressed interest in sailing, even after taking him on a boat trip. In fact, he didn't like it.
I love to paint variations of this scene that puts a little boy in the type of boat my son loved to play with. It brings back many fond memories.
Size: 8 x 11 inch. Extra soft pastel chalk on High grade pastel sanded paper.
